1st Annual Virtual Zaangha Day and Progressive Feast!
Welcome to my portal to Atlantis! Step right up and be seated in my luxurious time-machine. Please obey all instructions. It has not yet been tested, and I don’twant to have to try to rescue anyone from the middle of the Atlantic in the fourth century BC! Some details had to be skipped due to short notice. And mom made me take a nap, even though I stomped my feet and pouted!
Now, I don't know why my powerpoint slide text is all warped. But it is, and we will just have to deal with it. It must be some sort of weird effect from the space-gate.... Couldn't be my lack of technical prowess! Not just anybody can build a time-machine, you know...
Okay! Looks like Poseidia has done it again. Everybody, please put your hardhats under your seat for the convenience of the next passenger. Watch your step, especially the third from the top. I ran out of nails and had to use duck-tape and one of Dad's shoelaces. I hope he doesn't miss it before we get home!
Please excuse me for a moment. I'm feeling a little green... But no worry! These Atlanteans are genius healers... Might even grab me a massage! They let me do all sorts of stuff my mom thinks is hairbrained...
Okay - I'm back! Much better now. Whew. Thanks Poseidia! See you next time!
Boy have I got a surprise for you! Hang on, got to find the clocktower... Got to fine-tune it so's we can see what's next!
I love being on time for dessert!
Well, welcome one and all! Don't mind the revelry - they're always like that! That's what caused the end of them anyway -- too much FUN. Wait a minute! We've got a lot of that on our block back home. Why, just last week I heard Mom talking about Suzy's mom and that new guy that just moved in the corner house, where old lady Pritchett lived before she keeled over into the gin bottle... Well that's what she said! Said something about going to hell in a handbasket, too!
Finally, here's our table. Please enjoy yourselves, but not as much as the locals, or you'll be puking on the way home. Uck.
Hey! Here they come with ours!
First, I'd like to raise my glass, for a toast to our dear hostess Dryad, without whom we would all be one less amazing genius spark in the world! Thanks Dryad! Hey! Who put koolaid in my wine glass? Is my mother here?
On the left, you'll find a beautiful strawberry soup. Of course, they aren't really plain old strawberries that grow like weeds around here. Noooo. These are the ideal of all strawberries, the perfect strawberry plucked from God's own garden, with permission of course! Atlanteans are fancied to be prettty close to the old dude.
Strawberry Soup
Serves 2
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped coarsely
1/2 cup strawberry ice cream
1/4 cup heavy cream, divided
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Chocolate syrup for garnishing champagne glasses
2 Mint Sprigs
In a food processor pulse strawberries, ice cream, 1 tablespoon heavy cream and lemon juice until smooth; transfer to a container with a pouring spout, cover and chill in refrigerate.
Put chocolate syrup in a small deep flat bowl; dip champagne glass rims in chocolate until syrup runs down the sides of the glass.
Whip the remaining heavy cream with powdered sugar. Pour strawberry soup into the chocolate rimmed champagne glasses, garnish with whipped cream, a sprig of mint and serve.
NEXT is one of my favorites:
Tiramisu Dessert in a martini glass
2/3 cup Mascarpone Italian cream cheese
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 cup espresso or strong coffee
2 tablespoons Kahlua liqueur
1 (4.75 ounce) box Soft Lady Fingers (available at Trader Joe's)
2 teaspoon semi-sweet chocolate, chopped fine
2 mint sprigs for garnish
In a mixing bowl blend cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. In a shallow bowl combine espresso and Kahlua.
Dip Lady Fingers briefly in espresso mixture; line them vertically in the glass (when they are soft they can be adjusted to fit in the narrow base of the martini glass). Fill the martini glass with the cheese mixture; garnish tiramisu with chocolate, mint sprigs and serve.
And to top it off is the Ambrosia, compliments of Puckerbutt:

It is chock-full of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants and is very healing. Gauranteed to raise your spirits, too!!
FEEL FREE to imbibe the Moscato d'Asti: derived from 100% Muscat grapes - this is a fresh, inviting sparkler capable of handling an ultra rich cheese-cake (friends and I tried this with a honey-baked, marscapone cheesecake - fantastic!) or going solo as an afternoon apertif. Let the aromas of honeysuckle and the flavors of ripe peaches and a splash of candied pear dazzle amidst the light sparkle of this authentic Moscato. While, probably not the first choice for a wine to accompany a rich chocolate dessert, it is certainly up for the challenge of cream-based desserts or fresh fruit sorbets. With a low alcohol content (5.5% abv) and sweet flavors resulting from the natural residual sugars, this wine is as refreshing as it is easily attainable.
OKAY! Listen up! The clock just struck the last hour of the last day on earth for Atlantis! We've got to hustle, or I can't guarantee your safe return! You are welcome to bring any leftovers you can scoop into your pockets, but DON'T take any ambrosia, unless you want to join Tantalus in eternal condemnation!
Fickle darn Gods, eh?
Here, let me try something... What's this little dial do? Wow! Cool! Back to Zaangha Time! Don't want to mess up the INSANITY to come!
What a romp, guys!!! I'm tuckered. Think I'll take a nap before hitting the last two stops! Want to be all rested up to see what Dryad and Peridot are up too.... (just scroll to the bottom)
