First I suds’d them off good, bundled into my tee and went out to play in our yard, which is admittedly a bit shaggy and resembles a tall-grass prairie reserve toward the end of the season, usually because of equipment failures after a summer of fighting back the wilderness. Which pleases me: the wilderness always wins.
So we had a camera shoot in the beautiful sun ‘neath the beautiful sky and the beautiful spread of my daughter’s favorite trees, while I returned in my imagination to the many happy hours spent in just such splendor in the past, snortin’ and cavortin’ with my friends from down the street, dodging the beebees shot at us by those stinky boys…
Well, that only happened once, and man, did he catch fire! But I was the one that got hit, and all I can remember is crying all the way up the street and running straight to mom, it hurt so bad.
Our front yard back then was covered in english ivy, which was an amazing forest for horses and kin.
